Alberta Aids to Daily Living (AADL)
Alberta Aids to Daily Living (AADL) is a provincial program designed to help Albertans with a long-term disability, chronic or terminal illness pay for basic medical equipment and supplies. To be eligible for coverage through AADL a client must receive an assessment by an AADL authorized health care professional. Residential Access Modification Program (RAMP)
Low income Albertans can apply for a grant to modify their home through RAMP. Benefits of up to $7,500 per benefit year (April 1 to March 31) or $15,000 per person within ten years are available. Further information on the ramp program and eligibility is available on their website.

Seniors Home Adaptation & Repair Program (SHARP)
The Seniors Home Adaptation and Repair Program allows seniors to use their home equity to remain in their homes and maintain their independence. Eligible seniors can apply for low interest home equity loans to cover repairs, adaptations, and renovations. This can help offset the costs of items such as bathroom renovations and stairlifts. 

Assured Income for the Severely Handicapped (AISH)
Clients may be eligible for financial and health benefits through the Assured Income for the Severely Handicapped (AISH) program. Those receiving AISH are also exempt from paying the cost share portion of the AADL program. For further information on the AISH program please visit the Alberta.ca website.

Seniors Financial Assistance Program
Eligible Seniors in Alberta can access a variety of financial and health support programs. This coverage can be used to help assist in paying for home adaptations and repairs as well as furniture items such as beds. More information on this program can be found on their website. 

Veterans Affairs Canada (VAC)
Eligible Veterans may be able to receive coverage on medical equipment through veterans affairs canada. For further information on eligibility and benefit coverage please visit their website. 

Non-Insured Health Benefits for First Nations & Inuit (NIHB)
First Nations and Inuit clients may be eligible for medical equipment through the non insured health benefits program Coverage is available for many health benefits not covered through other social programs, private insurance plans, or provincial or territorial health services. Further information on eligibility is available on their website. 

Jordan’s Principle
Jordan’s Principle makes sure all First Nations children in Canada can access products, services, and supports they need, when they need them. Funding can help with a wide range of health, social and educational needs, including the unique needs that the First Nations Two-Spirit and LGBTQQIA children and youth and those with disabilities may have. 

Workers Compensation Board – Alberta (WCB)
Clients who have received prior authorization from the Workers Compensation Board of Alberta are eligible to receive medical equipment through Home Medical Solutions. All items provided must be approved by the Workers Compensation Board prior to providing services. Further information on WCB Medical Benefits can be found on their website. 

Worksafe BC
Clients who have received prior authorization from WorksafeBC are eligible to receive medical equipment through Home Medical Solutions. All items must be approved by Worksafe BC prior to providing services

Alberta Blue Cross
Alberta Blue Cross is the largest benefit carrier in the province. Extended benefits through Alberta Blue Cross allow for the coverage of medical devices such as wheelchairs, crutches, canes, walkers, and more. 

Easter Seals Alberta
Easter Seals Alberta offers an accessibility support program to provide equipment to Albertans in order to remain independent in their day to day lives. This includes equipment such as hospital beds, lift chairs, porch lifts, stair lifts, mobility scooters, power wheelchairs, portable ramps and ceiling tracks. Easter Seals also has an AccessAbilities Home Automation program which helps with home automation technology such as lighting and heat, appliances, and entertainment systems. Applications for these programs can be completed through Easter Seals and are typically only available after all other options have been exhausted.

Alberta Health Care Insurance Plan (AHCIP) Learn about the Alberta Health Care Insurance Plan including information on insured hospital and physician services in Alberta, and Canada.

Continuing Care The Alberta continuing care program provides Albertans with health, personal care, and accommodation services needed to support independence and quality of life. Any Albertan can receive these services. Eligibility is based on a professional assessment of a person’s unmet need for care. This can help with services such as dressing, erating, bathing, meal preparation and other healthcare support.

Seniors Health Benefits Coverage for eligible seniors over the age of 65 for prescription drugs and other related health benefits. This benefit includes up to $200 of coverage for homecare nursing services per benefit year as authorized by a physician.

Supports for Seniors Numerous resources through the Alberta government are available to our senior population including information on housing programs, age-friendly communities, funding opportunities, and more.

Palliative Care Health Benefit This benefit can be used to cover palliative individuals for prescription drugs, ambulance services, and diabetic supplies.

Alberta Health and Wellness Resources General resources surrounding the Alberta Health insurance and benefits, doctors, hospitals, and other healthcare supports and information.

Alzheimer Society of Alberta & Northwest Territories
The Alzheimer Society of Alberta brings awareness to Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias, helps alleviate personal and social consequences of the disease, provides education and support programs, and promotes and funds research into the cause, prevention, and cure.

Nurse Next Door Home Care Services is a Canadian based franchise system that offers private homecare services to seniors.
Primary Care Networks
Primary Care Networks are groups of family doctors who work alongside nurses, mental health therapists, pharmacists, social workers and other health professionals to meet the everyday health needs of patients in the communities they live and work.

AHS Homecare
Offers support and care from healthcare providers to people in their homes. Needs are assessed and a care plan is made. Provides medical support for people so they can live in their own homes.

Calgary Community Aids for Independent Living (CCAIL)
Provides clinical assessment services for basic medical equipment and supplies for individuals with long term needs (more than 6 months) due to a long-term disability, chronic or terminal illness. CCAIL provides clinical assessment for medical equipment including mobility and transfer aids, bathroom equipment, compression stockings and incontinence supplies.

Qualicare offers care planning services for families in Calgary, Priddis, Okotoks, Cochrane, and throughout surrounding towns.
